I have really benefited from my experience with Psychiatry UK! I would advise anyone to try this process, whether they want a diagnosis or would like to treat the symptoms of their ADHD. I was hesitant about the medication but I am pleased that I gave it a go because it really has made an incredible difference to my life so far. The dose I am on now leaving Titration has elevated my mood and dramatically improved my concentration and distractibility. This is evident in my work, in my personal life and with relationships. I have appreciated the help and advise and understanding that I received from my doctor who diagnosed me and my prescriber. I would definitely encourage others to go through the process with Psychiatry UK.

I approached P-UK with some trepidation and a level of nervousness having read some adverse stories online, however I now feel those people were likely mis-directing their anger around the medication shortages towards the service. I am very happy with the care I received from Psychiatry UK, my wait times were fine and the service and care I received once my treatment began was fantastic. No concerns here, I only wish I could stay with them full time, as I am nervous about navigating shared cars going forward and the availability of meds in rural UK.

I had to wait a lot longer than I anticipated but the diagnostic assessment was thorough.

I was referred to Psychiatry UK by my GP, I used the 'Right to Chose' route as I am 54 and did not want to wait 3 years on the NHS. If I were much younger this might not have been such an issue for me. From diagnosis to the end of Titration where I am now about to be handed back to my GP, has only taken around 14 months. My diagnosis was carried out by Dr Gaetano Dell'Erba via Teams, the appointment lasted around an hour. I was asked many questions about how the symptoms of ADHD had affected my life from my childhood through until now. I felt listened to, and that a full range of questions were asked to provide the Doctor with a full picture of how ADHD has impacted on my life. Prior to the diagnosis appointment I had, had forms to complete by myself, someone who knew me in childhood, and a second witness who knows me very well and the symptoms they have observed as possibly symptoms of ADHD. I also sent in an old school report which again gave further evidence of behaviours and symptoms of ADHD. I am just at the end of 6 weeks titration onto ADHD medication with nurse Terrie Smith who has been amazing, very supportive and provided excellent feedback and information throughout the process. I am about to be handed back to my GP for my medication prescribing. The medication has made such an amazing difference for me, especially with work, my energy, concentration levels, impulsivity and emotional dysregulation. I would highly recommend Psychiatry UK. The service they offer is personable and professional. I would give it 10/10 and a huge thank-you for the care and support I have received.

The nurse and doctor were extremely kind and patient, even though I was very nervous. They listened and asked further clarifying questions when my answers weren’t clear.

Before accessing Pyschiatry UK, my symptoms were taking over my life and having a serious negative impact on me. With the care, support and compassion of the Consultant and my Prescriber Paul, my life is finally balanced and I am able to function like I never have before. Thank you to all the staff for your help and support and I hope they continue to help other people like me.

The only issue was that they couldn't tell me how long the waiting list to begin was. An idea of months or years would have been good. In the end it was quicker than I expected.

I have been a patient at psychiatry UK for around three years. I was referred by my GP through NHS Right to Choose and couldn’t believe how quick I received my appointment and then was able to get diagnosed with ADHD. I didnt need any further support until around 5 months ago when I felt it was time to try medication. I went back into my portal and requested to receive medication and was referred to the tritiation team, within weeks I was updated with where I was in the process and a few more after that my first prescription was issued. My prescriber Rebecca Salazar would answer all my questions so clearly and quickly. I would upload a note on my portal and within days have received an answer. Whenever I had any issues and wanted to change my medication I would be listened to and the change would happen. My meds were delivered within a week and regular check ins on the portal were always happening. I really don’t know where I would be without Rebecca, despite only engaging through the portal, she was very good at her job and getting me to where I needed to go on my journey with ADHD meds. Credit to her!

Good service, I think I was lucky as I was seen to within 3 months which from what I understand is a rarity. There was one period where there was a lack of medication so there was a small pause in the titration process..but that is not the service's fault per se. The response to online queries is general prompt, the only thing i found mildly annoying is asking to fill weekly forms checking your height weight as if that's going to change so much as an adult, but the rest of it was a good experience.
